Kathy VasicFINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATION DIRECTOR

Kathy began her business ownership in 1982 in Sydney, her career has involved managing, directorship and administration capacities in a variety of businesses since that time. They have included the photographic industry, fruit juice and milk distribution in Sydney and business banking with St George. 2000 saw the teaming up of Kathy with Peter in Artistic Design Solutions an art, design and sign business. In 2003 Kathy and Peter purchased Engraving Services Co. ESC were recognised as pre-eminent industrial and commercial engravers and it was with that base that Kathy along with Peter under took to develop the business into the company it is today. Vivacious and dynamic, Kathy is a recognised driving force in the advancement of the Industry. |

Peter VasicDIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING

Peters’ business background stems from the paint manufacturing industry back in 1983. In 1987 Peter joined Solver paints and was responsible for management of a sales territory that took in regions of Adelaide, country South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales and advanced the Solver brand into a position of market leadership with in the territory. During this period Peter began studying Graphic design , Sign writing and under took some formal art training developing a reputation in fine art with pastels and caricature. Peter grew Artistic Design Solutions from a small part time business in 1990, into one of Australia’s most dynamic Chalk art and menu system businesses, receiving commissions from far a field as Japan. The company evolving into a design and sign business, before merging into Engraving Services Co. in 2003. |

Jamie SmalePRODUCTION MANAGER / MASTER ENGRAVER

Jamie began at ESC in 1989 as an assistant to Noel Tonkin, well known for his exceptional Engraving and turning skills. Jamie worked closely with Noel over the years, being taught many skills and proficiencies, now lost arts to many firms in this industry. Noel was a hard task master and a master indeed, ensuring Jamie learnt all the skills required to run a busy engraving work shop. Jamie is meticulous and extremely fastidious with all aspects of production, he views every item before him in an artisan like manner, ensuring quality control is not only a term, but a direct result of his hands on approach to the role. 1995 saw the commissioning of a larger CNC rotary engraver with cylindrical capacity, the work space had begun to take on a much more computerized feel. Since 2003 Jamie has travelled across Australia helping source state of the art equipment, his skills and intense industry knowledge have assisted the company make progressive and effective investments in Laser cutting and marking technologies. Jamie also helped commission ESC’s acid etching facility in 2006. With 20 years of experience under his belt Jamie has helped streamline many processes in production and is responsible for ensuring quality control standards are met. |

Heath SouterLASER OPERATOR / GRAPHICS PRE PRODUCTION / PRODUCTION

Heath has been part of our team since 2005. he has accumulated nearly ten years of laser operating expertise and as such is highly skilled in the idiosyncrasies associated with laser systems. An extremely adept and talented man, Heath has spent the large part of his working life taking extra studies in various colleges, universities and art schools in South Australia, as a result Heath has an unsurpassed breadth of knowledge associated with graphic design, CAD and visual art and other areas of design and management associated with laser technology. These attributes compliment well with our engraving and CNC production equipment, creating an extremely productive and creative working environment. Heath is always at hand to advise on the best way to provide files for laser processing . |

Steven HillMASTER ETCHER / ENGRAVER / SENIOR SIGN FABRICATOR

Steven has had an almost continuous association with AMPE /Insignius for over 20 years, in that time he has help develop signage in an incredible portfolio of iconic Adelaide landmarks . Stevens first engraving role was with Fairey Australasia, engraving defence and aerospace panels, name plates and associated products. He moved to Lettergraphics and began developing his vast knowledge base of sign fabrication, installation and engraving. In 1987 Steven joined AMPE signs and in the subsequent years has seen the introduction of Adelaide’s first computer engraving machines, assisted development of sophisticated Acid etching facilities, Supervised operations, created beautiful signage in a variety of substrates and mediums. Monolithic structures, Photo engraved stainless steel, Neon sky signs for the Hilton. He has worked on projects such as the Myer Remm centre, Adelaide University Campus, Rolling Stock signage for the Indian Pacific and Ghan. Steven is a talented artist in his own right and an illustrator and author. Community minded, Steven is a member of Trees for Life and Society for Growing Australian Plants. Stevens’ contributions to the success of the company over the years have been significant and his dedication to ensuring perfection in production and ultimately customer satisfaction unprecedented in the Industry. |

Kay KingGRAPHICS PRE PRODUCTION & POST PRODUCTION

Kay handles the vast majority of our art and graphic manipulation requirements. Her career within the industry began at Raynors pty ltd in their art room back in 1981 but good fortune had her join our company in 1984. Kay is proficient in all aspects of CAD design, software design programs, and file manipulation, backed by successfully completing her time at Croydon School of Graphic Arts in design, composition, offset printing, colour imaging and screen printing. Kay has also taken courses in history of type, colour separations and halftone graphics. A hands-on approach by Kay has seen her develop a wide range of skills in every facet of production from metal fabrication to photo anodising. As a result her practical skills back up and compliment the computer design knowledge she has attained. Some of Kay’s finest work is produced in screen printing, with surprising results on the most diverse substrates. Kay’s attention to detail and precise, meticulous observations are an absolute asset to our production processes and are invaluable to our clients needing to finalise artwork for submission. |
